Maya - Essential Hotkeys

Photoshop - Essential Hotkeys

P - Pen U - Anchor This is the big one^ The anchor is so valuable and saves artists lots of time for stuff like lineart, sketching, etc. It’s not in the default photoshop settings but it is so recommended to have in the shortcuts. G - Gradient S - Smooth I switch smooth to S. sculptors need it ZBrush so, why not painters/illustrators? H - Sharpen O - Dodge/Burn I - Eyedropper B - Brush Q - Quick Selection Not in default settings but man, is this a powerful one. W - Wand Let’s begin looking at the wand tool as an opportunity rather than a random quick selection. Random can also be unexpected. This actually is a handy tool for photomanipulations as it will intuitively separate contrasted darks from the lights in your chosen photograph M - Magic Lasso I want to have the magic lasso by my side  at all times, especially for things like landscape designs or general photomanipulations. this is a great one for building terrains or if you generally are looking for a reliable cont

Adjusting Grid Space - 3DS Max

Image
Adjusting the grid space will adjust the size of the grid in your scene. This is particularly useful for measuring out the distance between objects or for snapping objects onto the grid vertices. The grid is always invisible in this memory space. The bigger it gets won't take up any memory on your computer.

Subobject Mode

1. Vertex Mode 2. Edge Mode 3. Border Mode 4 - Polygon Mode 5 - Elements Mode Click 5 twice and you go back to Top Level Mode to select whatever objects you want in viewport

Combine Objects - Attach 3DS Max

Select Object Click "Attach" Select another object Both Objects are now combined.

Snapping - 3DS Max

Image
2D Snapping -  snapping on same plane Z axis 2.5  D Snapping  - Sanpping objects in space as if they are on the same level Top Viewport; not perspective viewport this Top Viewport works because of the axis these objects are in.\ 3D Snapping -  Move object in space to exact x, y, and z coordinate Its a generalized snapping method. That isn't as controlled as 2D and 2.5 D Rotational Snap Toggle  2D Snap The cursor snaps only to the active construction grid, including any geometry on the plane of that grid. The Z axis, or vertical dimension, is ignored.  2.5D Snap The cursor snaps only to the vertices or edges of the projection of an object onto the active grid. Suppose you create a grid object and make it active. You then position the grid object so you can see through the grid to a cube further off in 3D space. Now with 2.5D set, you can snap a line from vertex to vertex on the distant cube, but the line is drawn on the active grid. The effect is like holding up
